Love this little pouch. First it is a lovely item to touch, beautiful quality waxed leather and oilskin cloth bag (smell reminds me of my father’s old Barbour). It’s neat and fixes perfectly to my belt. Then, out in the wild, once treasure if found, it opens out to a sturdy bag that stays open without flopping closed, so you can use two hands to forage. Being waxed, your clothes stay clean. The pull tie is long enough to knot closed and you continue your walk. Have used this twice for hazelnuts yesterday and off to find sloes today. Love it, thank you!

After talking to Lucy and sending her details of the size of rug and photos of our lounge we settled on the large Dutch Silky sexto. Lucy could not have been more helpful. I am now the owner of a fabulous large reindeer skin which I sleep on and which keeps me very warm in my converted 4x4. I only wish I could have meet its original owner to also thank!! Be warned though- It's very hard to stop stroking this fabulously soft fur... weird but heck, it is so comforting! Fantastic service from Lucy I wanted a rare breed double rug , Lucy email a photo of the rug and I liked the colour of cream,greys Browns. This was posted out to me and arrived next day when I opened the parcel the rug was fabulous. The rug now adorns the antique nursing chair . We've just received the most beautiful creamy white large sheepskin rug. Lucy couldn't have been more helpful. She advised on choice, gave us a price, sorted out 15 skins of similar colour and density and sent photos for our approval before cutting and stitching. I have just received one double and one XL Herdwick Fleece. I asked that, if possible the two rugs be as similar as possible since they reside very close to each other. Despite the difficulty on matching such unique and variable items, Lucy has achieved what I needed. The rugs are superb! The service was excellent - delivered within a couple of days (extra time to sew the double), and within a given 1 hour slot.

I recently purchase an Icelandic Sheepskin for my lounge with assistance from Lucy, who was more than helpful. I thought I knew what I was looking for however after receiving some photos I chose a darker rug which looks absolutely fabulous. I couldn't be more pleased. I ordered a Jacob fleece as my husband is having a knee replacement in a couple of weeks and will be using a Windsor Chair for the next few weeks. By pure chance I discovered The Fabulous Fleece Company after desperately trying to find a replacement sheepskin rug to replace my daughter's one I had ruined in the wash! After emailing Lucy I contacted her by phone as I was quite specific in what I wanted and we agreed it was the Gotland as I wished to have an excellent quality rug which was unique. Sorry to say, I was a little disappointed in this rug. It's my fourth, the others were, a rare breed quad, a rare breed double and a Herdswick. They were all thick and luxurious, just as I had expected. I read the reviews for this rug and did not expect it to be any different in thickness or texture. the online description didn't lead me to believe it would be any different either. The colour was rich and luxurious, but the sheepskin itself was quite thin and flat, which was unexpected. the cats love it now, as its become a bed for them.

I have Just received my extra large Herdwick Sheepskin Rug and I am thrilled with it. The colours are just perfect with my room and the quality of the rug is superb. Lucy was very helpful and sent me pictures of 3 rugs to choose from, which made it easy for me decide on which one would look the best. I can only say that I wouldn't hesitate to buy another fleece from her.

Having previously ordered a brown dog bed fleece and one of the extra long fleeces, I added a Welsh Bed Liner to my recent order of Toscana lambskins, so that the cat could have a lovely snuggly bed like our lurchers... sadly (for the cat!) the teenager has decided that it would look much nicer on her bed!!! It looks absolutely perfect there, and it looks like I will be ordering another one for the cat

We are thrilled with this rug, beautifully soft, lovely colour/texture and great value. Customer service is exceptional - I asked for one colour, but then changed my mind. I wanted to add some warmth and glamour to our sofas with fur throws. I found the Fabulous Fleece Co and started emailing and chatting to Lucy, so knowledgeable and helpful. Lots of pictures of sheepskin's later and I chose my perfect ones. Within a week they were transformed and delivered. WOW they are amazing, we all love them, even the dog!!

Wonderful all round! We have a triple rare breed which is on the sofa. My husband has moved from his chair onto my sofa!. The dog is loving her new bed and the extra fleece is moved around to cover our backs. Not sure we bought enough! Lucy was very helpful with information and choices. Great company.

I am thrilled with my fleece-it looks even better than in the photos.It has a lovely mix of grey tones from silver through to charcoal and masses of tiny curls. Very soft to the touch. I chose the Black Face as it looked a good contrast with my maroon leather recliner and it's a very good look, very quick delivery. It's so comfortable to sit on and gives the chair a new lease of life. The trouble is I now need to buy another one as our cats who never liked my chair now spend all day on it. I have received my gorgeous sheepskin rug. I ordered a double end to end rug. This is to go on the back of my sofa. Lucy sent me pictures of a dark and light colour to choose from. Both looked stunning and I chose the light colour. Lucy let me know when it would arrive and I also received a text from the delivery company letting me know date and time of delivery. Ordered 2 of these and I already have the XL Rare Breed Sheepskin Pet bed. These are ideal for protecting your chairs, sofa or in front of the fire for the cats - they love them. I have found them a little bit small for my Tibetan terrier (he is on the large side) compared to the XL Pet bed recently purchased. Perfect for a smaller dog and cats, having said that Hector (the dog) is using the one placed in the kitchen even though he hangs over the edge. Another fabulous product from Lucy. Now to order something for the humans in this household :-)

She took the time to take photos of the rugs in the sunlight and then send me the images so that I could see the differences in colour. After placing my order I promptly received an email clarifying my order to ensure I got exactly what I wanted which was very reassuring. I had a few additional questions around the ethical treatment of animals and I was left reassured. Our rug arrived promptly and I recieved a message the day before from the courier and a time was also set on by the courier the day of the delivery. The rug is absolutely stunning! It is a high quality product and I only wish I had ordered a larger one. I will certainly be returning and would be very happy to recommend the FFC to anyone based on my experience.

I'm thrilled with my new Welsh sheepskin - Lucy was very helpful in sending me pics to choose the one I wanted. I was looking for a grey fleece to match my decor and this has lovely unique markings and mix of grey tones - much more special and interesting than the flat colour of dyed sheepskins found elsewhere. Plus the fleece feels extra silky soft too. I love it!

Great service from Lucy to select the right rug for you and to make a personal choice from a selection. They make such unusual presents that invite many a comment. We were so pleased with ours that we ordered another sheepskin rug for my 78 year old mother's birthday. She absolutely loves it. We use both as seat covers and they are gorgeous. Very pleased with my new Icelandic Sheepskin Rug! It's very striking and looks fab in my new living room! Great natural colours giving off a warm cosy feel. I have mixed grey wood floors and this rug really compliments the room. It feels great and it's most certainly a treat for your feet! I would 100% order from TFFC again. I purchased two of the small size sheepskins for my cats, two years ago. See my earlier review under T Dec 2014. Having now acquired more cats, more beds were required. Although the two beds I have just purchased are different in style to the previous ones, they are equally as luxurious and proved to be an instant hit with my young cats who were trying to make a bed on them even before I had taken off the wrapping. Two very happy customers ! And I would like to add a special note of thanks to Lucy, who has been incredibly kind and patient with my order and extremely helpful. My reindeer hide has just arrived and I am delighted with it. It is a lovely dense fur and beautifully soft. At this time of year I like to cosy up the house using fleeces and candles and this hide is a luxurious addition to that adding texture. I recently bought 4 Herdwick sheepskins and I am so pleased them. Each one is different in the colours, patterns and length of fleece but they all go really well together. I would definitely say the fleece is better in the flesh that on the pictures, I love it! I have two pieces draped over chairs in my bedroom and they look beautiful. Very luxurious with tiny curls and the variation of colour is wonderful (mine is a mixture of greys and with darker brown tips on some of the curls). Would definitely recommend having one or two of these in your home :-)

Fast service and a nice rug but I'm a bit disappointed with the colours of the one I received. I appreciate each item is unique but it would have been nice to be able to choose from individual rugs rather than selecting a broad category. I had been expecting a mainly cream rug with clearly defined white spots, and received a mostly brown rug with some paler bits. Still nice but quite far off the photographs here and so not what I had expected/hoped for.

We ordered a fleece from 'The Fabulous Fleece Company' a couple of years ago. Thought I would write this review to wish you the very best of luck with the Ideal Home Exhibition. As we live in Norfolk, you invited us over to meet you and your two dogs. We arrived with one very young and mad Lurcher in tow who ran riot around your house! We left with a lovely rare breed fleece and a pack of dog food. Unfortunately 'Frank' decided he wanted to kill the fleece rather than sleep on it, so only lasted a couple of months. However, I would not hesitate ordering another from you, should the need arise.

Received my rug yesterday and it's absolutely gorgeous . The colours are beautiful and the fleece is so thick and soft. It looks amazing and finishes the room off perfectly. I have been wanting a rug for some time and hadn't t really thought about buying over the Internet but decided I would have a look. Lucy's site came up and the rugs looked great so I contacted Lucy. I explained what I was looking for and she sent me pictures of rugs I may like . She answered all my questions, responding really quickly and within a couple of days I had made my choice and placed my order. Again Lucy was really helpful arranging delivery for the rug to be delivered within two days . What a service and so pleased with the quality of my rug. i coveted the look of the sheepskins on the bed in one of the website photos, but they were no longer available. i marveled at lucy's commitment and patience in helping me find exactly the right alternative. she replied rapidly to all my queries and was generous in supplying me with photos of various fleeces and combinations. i really felt that we built a personal connection, which also included humour and trust. when we hit upon the perfect solution she acted quickly and my sexto was made up and despatched within a week. i was so excited to receive my delivery and was surprised that it was so light - i had been maybe a little concerned that 6 skins might be rather heavy as a throw on my bed. when i unpacked it i couldn't believe how beautiful it was - soft and light and sweet-smelling, and utterly fabulous in every way! i could never have anticipated how it would exceed anything i could imagine. i recommend the fabulous fleece company wholeheartedly, for superb quality of service and product, and tireless, painstaking attention to ensuring complete satisfaction.

The customer service was not great - the lady was very bad tempered. She deliberately sent me the wrong product because she had run out of what I ordered but she didn't consult me before she did this - I had asked for a rare breed sheepskin and she sent me the basic white one instead. Admittedly it took me a couple of weeks to send it back as I didn't get to the post office till then. When she got the returned product she had a real go at me for it being late and said it was crumpled - she received it back in the same condition that I sent it to her. I opened the package, realised it was the wrong thing and put it back directly in the packaging folded just as it was when she sent it to me. I wanted to exchange it but she was in such huff by then she wouldnt do it so I had to tell her that as she had never sent what I ordered she would have to give my money back which she did. The fleece looked perfectly ok from a quality perspective but she is a my way or the highway type. It's a a lot of aggravation having to return the wrong product. Why didn't she just tell me the truth I.e that she didn't have it in stock at that point rather than try to fob me off with a completely different product?

You ordered a rarebreed dog bed. You were sent the correct product. If you read the product description it states that you could receive a rarebreed/herdwick/mouflon/brown or cream rug that has arrived as a second. You could have requested a choice but you didn't. I immediately agreed to change the rug for you for one of your choice. Our return terms are very clear online. It's not 'my way or the highway' but a usual legal returns agreement that is set out to protect the customer and the business. Your rug arrived back here months later. There was no invoice in the parcel just a sheepskin that had been screwed up, stuffed back into the tough sac and left somewhere damp. The sheepskin had to be disposed of. - Lucy

I just took receipt of a quad Herdwick as a throw for my fiancee. From start to finish Lucy couldn't have been more helpful or flexible, replying to emails late on a Saturday night and providing photos of some quads she had available. After placing the order on a Sunday the fleece arrived promptly on the Tuesday and quite frankly, its more amazing than I could have expected. The colours are sublime and its so soft and tactile with a lovely smell. As I'm writing this review my fiancee is curled up asleep on it! Overall I couldn't recommend Lucy enough and I will definitely be letting anyone who asks about the fleece know where it came from. Im certain we'll be buying another one (or likely more) in the future. 5 stars doesn't feel like its enough!

I was absolutely amazed at the quality of the sheepskin, a quad. Customer service was second to none. I was asked for my colour preference, I was then sent photos of the fleeces to see if I liked them. I was kept informed at every step of the process. Really love my Hardwick sheepskin. I have it on a brown leather fireside chair and it looks and feels wonderful. The mix of deep brown through to creamy tones makes it really stand out. It's wearing well too, having had quite a few people sitting and leaning on it, it still looks brand new. Surprised that one reviewer commented on the smell, because mine doesn't have any smell. Lucy shipped the product over to me in Germany just before Christmas and delivery was straightforward.

Ordered 2 of these and I already have the XL Rare Breed Sheepskin Pet bed. These are ideal for protecting your chairs, sofa or in front of the fire for the cats - they love them. I have found them a little bit small for my Tibetan terrier (he is on the large side) compared to the XL Pet bed recently purchased. Perfect for a smaller dog and cats, having said that Hector (the dog) is using the one placed in the kitchen even though he hangs over the edge. Another fabulous product from Lucy. Now to order something for the humans in this household :-)

Extra large Dog bed ordered on Tuesday arrived on Wednesday - Hector (Tibetan Terrier) was straight on it in front of the fire and both cats snuggled onto it as well - a major hit! what struck me about this fleece was how soft and supple it is and this is just for the pets so I have now ordered two of the cream rectangle dog beds for the kitchen space and the car and then I am going to treat myself to a Bespoke one for the Sitting room.....

Well! I never received my product! apparently interlink left my sheepskin outside my door but when I came back from work nothing was there (I live in a highly secured building with two locked doors) awful costumer service from Lucy, she is quite rude and unhelpful. She told me "Someone in your flats has stolen your parcel" she refused when I asked her at least apologise for the awful service! She talks about her "ethically produced items" but she doesn't care that her costumer paid £70 but never received her product! The least you could have done just apologised and making sure this would never happen to another costumer! I tried to resolve this through emailing but you made me leave you a negative review as I don't think it's fair for costumers to pay a company with a horrible costumer service!

I answered your very first email with how sorry I was that you were experiencing problems with your delivery and immediately started an investigation to find your parcel for you. I take it very seriously as I want every customer to experience a fast and convenient shopping experience with the fabulous fleece company. On further investigation into your case it was discovered that Interlink tried on several occasions to deliver but were unable to leave your parcel without a signature. With all the options open to you referring to the re-delivery of your parcel you chose to contact Interlink direct and give them written instruction to leave the parcel outside your door without a signature instead of the safer options of delivering to a neighbor or to a local collection point. Interlink carried out your instruction taking photographs of the parcel and your front door. All the times and attempts of delivery to you were logged by Interlink.
We tried to help you with this but after many unpleasant emails from you the case went to the ombudsman who also declared that the parcel had been delivered to you under your specific instructions. - Lucy

I went for the Gotland as the curls and natural tones of the sheepskin looked unusual and I didn't want a fleece that was too chunky. I am absolutely thrilled with the sheepskin- it's soft and excellent quality. The pile is deep and luxurious & a great texture without being too thick and so sits in my Eames rocking chair perfectly. Beautiful rug and smells lovely! Really soft and luxurious. This is my fist sheepskin rug and won't be the last. My only disappointment is that around 2" of the backing can be seen in a couple of places, but having never had a sheepskin rug I don't know if this is normal or not.

Ordered on Monday and received today (Thursday) in France what a fantastic delivery service and the tracking is far superior to other carriers. The sheepskin truly is fabulous, luxurious and it's soooo thick which I wasn't expecting. The colour is lovely a lot of brown with a bit of cream/grey which makes the room look warmer especially on a tiled floor. Lucy, thank you for an excellent personal service. I shall certainly be ordering another sheepskin in the future. Having spent some hours browsing various sites that sell sheepskin rugs, I would recommend everyone to look no further than this company. ps haven't used the brush but the coin purse is much larger than I expected - it's great and the motif is lovely. Thanks again. Will you be doing sheepskin slippers at some point?

I have just bought a supersize Herdwick quad rug to put in front of my fire place. Thanks to superb attention to detail from Lucy the rug is amazing - the size is just right, the fleece colours complement the colours of my hearth around my wood burner and the pile is lovely and soft. Dear Mrs Bailey
We are so sorry that you are disappointed with your dog bed, if you had contacted us about this then we would have been able to put this right for you.
We do clearly state in the advert that the beds are made from pieces of sheepskin sewn together with a fabric backing, if we stuffed them with a filling to become a thick pillow then the bed would not have been able to be washed very easily, with a padded filling being surrounded by skin it would have held the water and taken an awfully long time to dry out meaning that the product wouldn't be fit for the purpose.
The sheepskin pieces give the bed all the properties of one sheepskin piece ie supportive, insulating and comforting, that's why all the pets that have them love them so much. - Lucy

Ordered two of the small size for my two cats. They arrived last night and are a major hit. Each cat claimed one as soon as I put them out and are now both refusing to move, other than for a quick dash to the food bowls. They are simply the best cat beds I have ever bought, wonderful thick sheepskin with a great backing, they look gorgeous and - if my cats could write - they would tell you that they are brilliant. So very pleased I found this website - Christmas has indeed arrived early in this household.

Bought one of these from Lucy at Breckland food festival for my armchair. The markings are stunning so it looks so stylish and it is so snuggly it is basically a grown up comfort blanket! 3 years on and it looks as good as the day I got it. Recently bought another for my other half who had an extended stay in hospital following surgery. He had to endure 3 weeks of lying on rubber covered hospital matresses so I got him a large Jacobs online and took it in to him. With the odd brush every couple of days it stayed perfectly fresh the whole time even though he basically lived on it 24/7 for 10 days. It stopped him constantly sweating on the rubber bed and the nurses said fleeces are good for preventing pressure sores.

As if my pooch wasn't pampered enough but how could I resist getting him something so soft and warm to keep his old bones happy in this cold weather. Really lovely item and such good quality if I hadn't bought it for the dog I would have thought it was for me! He loves snuggling into it and since I bought it he's been much less restless during the night in his bed. All I would say is that for a Boxer dog, it could have done with being a little bigger.

We have two of these (together with two Herdwicks - see my review on those too) and they are absolutely lovely. They make a cold space seem warm, warm your feet as a rug but look incredibly stylish either as a throw on our leather sofas or on our wooden floor; though they would look brilliant in any room. Everyone who visits admires them and they look as good as new after nearly a year. I'm now looking for other places to put more! We have two of these, as well as two individual rare breed rugs and we are delighted with them. They make what a large, fairly stark, room very cosy and are as beautiful now as they were when we bought them nearly a year ago. Would definitely recommend - especially as we saw some Herdwick rugs in their Lake District homeland this year which were more money for smaller skins (and not as lovely).

I had already bought one of these from Lucy at a country fair and had it on the back of a sofa. We recently moved house and the hide gravitated to the floor in our bedroom (my side of the bed, of course), prompting my husband to comment that it looked really good and could he have one too please? And so two days later, he has! Very pleased with it, looks great in situ, and the dog likes it too.

I am currently based in France and I ordered the bed on Monday afternoon and received it Thursday morning. Great delivery service. Extremely friendly service at the company (Lucy!). The bed itself surpassed my expectations. It is wonderfully padded underneath and the sheepskin is lovely and soft and the colour very even. OK, so it might be a bit extravagant as a dog bed but we ordered a double version of this for our chocolate labs Monty and Lily. Not only is it fantastically comfy it's lovely and warm. It's a perfect colour match for them so it's a bit disconcerting not being able to see the dogs in the dark except for two sets of eyes peering back at you! It must be comfy because Monty would rather be on his bed now than taking up room in front of the Aga. So five stars from him!

Just made my second purchase, they are perfect for leather sofas. I use mine to warm it up in winter and to stop me sticking to it in summer. Very good as a cover up where the dog sits! I just whip a fleece off the best chair, where the dog is not allowed, and cover up his grubby patch and clean visitors can have a seat. Ted dog has one in his bed to, it washes very well. Will be back for a cow hide rug when my log burning stove is fitted.

I ordered two rare-breed sheepskins in large to put in the car for our two whippets when we go to cornwall this summer. I recently bought two Herdwick Fleeces and am over the moon with them. They are both really beautiful, thick multi toned fleeces and look stunning in our bedroom. I was unsure what to buy initially and it was due to Lucy's fab customer service, which went above and beyond - including photos, phone calls and several emails, which helped me with my purchase.
